Summer Trip Descriptions
Join us as we explore the landscapes and structures that make Central Park one of NYC’s top destinations for tourists and locals alike. After hearing about the history of the park, playing, hiking, and taking photographs of things they’ve observed, children will write guidebooks to share what they have learned and experienced.
Accompany us as we explore the shops, playgrounds and sights of the Village and Chelsea. After we stroll along the High Line, snack at Magnolia, and check out the action at “The Cage,” children will write their own guidebooks about these popular NYC neighborhoods.
Battery Park City/Brooklyn
NYC Is My Backyard heads downtown and over to Brooklyn. Give your little explorer the chance to discover and write a guidebook about the increasingly popular sites of Battery Park City and DUMBO. He’ll get to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and get to know beautiful Prospect Park.
The City’s Best Playgrounds
Run, climb, and play with us as we check out playgrounds all over this awesome city! As we explore numerous play areas and parks in Manhattan, children will create guidebook pages to rate and compare them.
Uptown Adventure/”The Islands”
Join us as we venture out of our home borough to explore and review two of NYC’s other islands (Coney Island and Governors Island) and The Bronx. Stops include Fort Jay, the New York Aquarium, Wave Hill, the Bronx Zoo, and the Bronx Botanical Garden.
American Museum of Natural History
Come with us as we explore the various halls and exhibits that make the AMNH one of the most popular museums in town! While ambling through the halls of the fascinating building and exploring multiple exhibitions, children will write guidebooks to share their experiences and opinions about the areas of the museum they have visited that day.
Five Days, Five Boroughs
Get a feel for each borough of New York City. Our city is so big and vibrant! How often though, do we really get to visit each borough? Over the course of this week, we will! And children will create guidebook pages to share their impressions of all that they have seen and done.
